Trabuco Canyon Motorcyclist Dies in Antonio Parkway Crash

A motorcyclist died today in Rancho Santa Margarita, closing the road for hours.

UPDATED AT 3:11 P.M.: A man who crashed a motorcycle into a car suffered fatal injuries today in Rancho Santa Margarita, authorities said.

It happened at 9:42 a.m. at Antonio Parkway and El Prado, according to Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock.

Robert Baker, 70, of Trabuco Canyon, was pronounced dead at 10:23 a.m. at the Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo

Baker was southbound on Antonio when the driver of the sedan, which had been eastbound on El Prado, merged onto Antonio, Hallock said.

“We don’t believe drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash at this time,” Hallock said.

The investigation on the cause of the crash was ongoing, Hallock said.

Westbound Antonio Parkway was expected to be closed between Bienvenidos and the 241 Foothill Transit Corridor toll road for a few hours, Hallock said.OTHER PATCH HEADLINES
