RSM City To Host Drug Take Back Day: Save The Date

The city is hosting a drive for residents to anonymously drop off prescription medication on Saturday, Oct. 29. Here's what to know.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Do you have unused, old or expired prescription medication taking up space in your medicine cabinet?

The City of Rancho Santa Margarita is hosting a recycling event Saturday, Oct. 29 in commemoration of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, and residents are encouraged to stop by and dispose of their unused medication.

The city, along with the Orange County Sheriff's Department, host this event twice a year. It is designed to be a safe, convenient and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs, the city said in a statement.

While unused or expired prescriptions will be accepted, the city will not take sharp objects, marijuana, liquids or pressure canisters.

The drug disposal event takes place Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Rancho Santa Margarita City Hall, 22112 El Paseo.
