South Orange County Couple Who Lost Infant In Tragic Crash See Overwhelming Support
OC residents have been donating to help husband and wife Kyle and Hayley Ohlwiler after they and their infant son were hit by a car Sunday.
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — The Orange County community is stepping up to support one local couple after a devastating crash resulted in the loss of their infant son.
Rancho Santa Margarita residents Kyle and Hayler Ohlwiler were on a family walk Sunday afternoon when they were hit by a car along the sidewalk on Antonio Parkway.
The crash killed the infant, 11-month-old Madden Ohlwiler, and left both his parents hospitalized.

"While the doctors did all they could to help treat them, unfortunately baby Madden didn't make it and returned to our Heavenly Father," family friend Kimmy Ashworth wrote on the family's GoFundMe page. "Kyle and Hayley are still in the hospital being treated for their injuries and anything you can do to help and support this sweet family at this time would be truly appreciated."

According to a previous Patch report, the driver behind the wheel of the car that hit the family was hospitalized and arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He was later identified as 54-year-old Daniel Lenihan of San Clemente.
