RSM Residents Get Hands-On Fire Training Thursday

Residents participated in a fire safety and preparedness town hall at the Bell Tower Regional Community Center.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Rancho Santa Margarita residents learned about how to protect themselves, their families and their homes in the event of a wildfire after during a fire safety town hall Thursday.

Residents who attended the free town hall received hands-on instruction on how to use fire extinguishers, and also learned about wildfire prevention, emergency preparedness, home safety strategies and fire insurance information.

Orange County Fire Authority firefighters and Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies spoke to residents about the importance of home hardening, and how to respond when an evacuation order is in place.
