RSM Slasher Convicted To Relief Of Neighborhood
Rancho Santa Margarita residents breathed a collective sigh of relief at the conviction of the infamous RSM Tire Slasher. What happens now?

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA β A group of Rancho Santa Margarita residents breathed a sigh of relief last week when a Tustin man was at last held accountable for his crimes.
My Ngoc Tien Nguyen, a 38-year-old Tustin resident, was convicted of one felony count and two misdemeanor vandalism counts for slashing tires across Rancho Santa Margarita. 20, in fact, over a five month period of time.
Nguyen had two additional misdemeanor accounts acquitted. He is scheduled for sentencing April 13.

When Nguyen was arrested in April, sheriff's deputies said the first reported incidents of vandalism happened in late 2016, but the tire slashing escalated from there, prompting residents to create a Facebook page on the issue.
The RSM Slasher page has been actively following the case ever since. Residents weighed in, one woman stating that the damage was over $1500 for two slashed tires.
