Santa Margarita Golfers Finish Fourth in State Championships
Paced by sophomore Beau Hossler's two-over-par 74, the Eagles finish fourth at the CIF State Championships, played Wednesday at Poppy Fields Golf Course in Pebble Beach.

Santa Margarita's outstanding 2011 golf season came to a close on the shores of the Pacific Wednesday afternoon, as the Eagles turned in a round 392 at Poppy Hills in Pebble Beach, good for a tie with Concord's De La Salle for fourth place overall at the CIF State Championships.
Although the day didn't produce a state championship -- that honor went to Torrey Pines (366) -- the Eagles showed well on the state's biggest stage and had the final say in an epic season-long struggle with Servite for Orange County golf supremacy.
Santa Margarita was the Trinity League's best team throughout the regular season, but fell to Mater Dei at the league tournament, then looked on as Servite took the regional championship and followed it up by besting the Eagles at the SCGA tournament last week in Pasadena
