South OC Man Who Shot Security Guard Arrested, Deputies Say
The security guard remains in critical condition after he was shot while sitting in his car in South Orange County.

LAGUNA HILLS, CA — A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shooting a security guard in a Laguna Hills neighborhood, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported Wednesday.
The shooting was reported at 11:02 a.m. Tuesday, after deputies were sent to the area of Bridlewood Drive and Saddle Rock Place regarding a shooting.
Upon arriving, authorities found a man with gunshot wounds to his upper torso in the driver's seat of a parked security guard vehicle, deputies said.

The victim was moved to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition as of Wednesday.
Deputies set up a perimeter surrounding the area and ultimately identified 32-year-old Matthew Luke Pickens, of Laguna Hills, as the suspect.

Pickens was arrested without incident after deputies surrounded his home. He was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of attempted murder, authorities said.
Deputies also seized multiple weapons found within Pickens' home and vehicle, authorities said. The weapons will be analyzed to determine if they were used during the shooting.
