Splash Pad Grand Opening In RSM Slotted For April: Save The Date

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Rancho Santa Margarita residents may have noticed ongoing construction near the city's central park located on La Mirada.

Fortunately for commuters, that construction is drawing to a close as the city announced its plans to host a grand opening for the new Central Park Splash Pad.

On April 9, Rancho Santa Margarita residents are invited to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony in which city officials will unveil the splash pad. The grand opening event will also include music, games and food vendors.

The Central Park Splash Pad has been in the works since 2017 and was delayed significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The $1.72 million project was funded by developer fees and includes spray features, an 18-foot mountain backdrop to screen on-site restrooms and equipment rooms, a tempered shower tower and plenty of seating and shade.

"Every feature of this one-of-a-kind facility is custom to create an amazing facility for the families of Rancho Santa Margarita," a city spokesperson said in a statement.

The grand opening of the Central Park Splash Pad is set for April 9, with the event starting at 11 a.m.
