Teen Stabbed Near South Orange County Park Wednesday Night

The stabbing was reported in Ladera Ranch Wednesday evening near a neighborhood park, authorities said.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — A teenage boy was stabbed Wednesday night at a park in south Orange County, Orange County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Frank Gonzalez told Patch.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the area of Eton Place and University Avenue, near Eton Park, to respond to reports of the stabbing.

Responding deputies found a 16-year-old boy stabbed in the lower back. His wounds were not life-threatening, Gonzalez said, and he was taken to a local hospital.

The suspect or suspects fled the scene before deputies arrived, he said.
