Truck Crashes Into Embankment, 1 Rescued In Rancho Santa Margarita

The truck apparently drove off the side of Alicia Parkway near Santa Margarita Parkway on Monday.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — One person was rescued after a truck drove off the side of an embankment in Rancho Santa Margarita Monday, the Orange County Fire Authority reported.

Firefighters were sent to the area of Alicia Parkway near Santa Margarita Parkway in reponse to a truck that drove off of the road and ended up 120 feet down the hill at around 3 p.m. Monday.

"Our firefighters quickly executed a low angle rope rescue," an Orange County Fire Authority news release said. "Once the patient was safely rescued, our firefighters paramedics transported the patient to a local hospital."

The cause of the incident was under investigation, authorities said.
