UPDATE: 4.6M Earthquake Strikes SE of Hemet

It struck at 9:56 a.m. about 12 miles east-southeast of Anza and 16 miles south-southwest of Palm Desert, according to the USGS.

Update 10:17 a.m. The earthquake that struck southeast of Hemet just before 10 a.m. Monday was downgraded to estimated 4.6 magnitude by USGS scientists.

The temblor was initially estimated at M5.2 and then M5.1.

It struck at 9:56 a.m. March 11 about 12 miles east-southeast of Anza and 16 miles south-southwest of Palm Desert, according to the USGS.

Posted 10:12 a.m. An earthquake estimated at 5.1 magnitude struck just before 10 a.m. Monday southeast of Hemet and it was felt across parts of the Inland Empire.

The temblor was initially estimated at M5.2 and then M5.1, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
