1. Redlands' Kimberly Juniors hold year-end meeting at Kimberly Crest (redlandsdailyfacts.com) — A long-running Redlands tradition for high school girls, the Kimberly Juniors of the Contemporary Club, just wrapped their 110th year-end meeting at Kimberly Crest House and Gardens and are now accepting applications for 2026–27. Members study leadership, public speaking, life skills and more, with new officers installed for next year and a cotillion-style presentation offered to seniors.
2. Redlands Voters Cast Ballots in June Primary; Hilton and Becerra Lead Crowded Governor's Race (communityforwardredlands.com) — Redlands-area voters helped shape Tuesday’s primary, where Steve Hilton and Xavier Becerra are leading the race for California governor and appear headed for a November matchup. Local ballots also featured competitive congressional, Assembly, county and schools superintendent contests, with early returns showing incumbents and front-runners building strong leads as more votes continue to be counted.
3. ABC Agents and Redlands Police Cite Five for Furnishing Alcohol to Minors (cslea.com) — Redlands police and state ABC agents recently cited five people on May 29 for buying alcohol for an underage decoy, part of a “shoulder tap” operation targeting underage drinking. Officials say the stings aim to keep alcohol away from local youth, reduce DUI crashes and improve public safety, with violators facing at least a $1,000 fine and community service.
4. Redlands, Trine make finals in NCAA D-III softball (salemtimes-register.com) — Redlands’ own University of Redlands softball team is playing Trine University for the NCAA Division III national championship in Salem, needing just one win Wednesday to clinch the title. The Bulldogs reached the best-of-three finals after beating Simpson College Sunday and routing Trine 11-3 Tuesday, capping a 46-6 season against a field that included previously undefeated Virginia Wesleyan.
5. 5 Inland Empire students win 2026 National Merit Scholarships (dailybulletin.com) — A Redlands High School senior from Mentone, Yahya Salman, is among five Inland Empire students awarded 2026 National Merit Scholarships funded by universities. The scholarships, worth up to $2,000 a year for four years, support students heading into fields from psychiatry and medicine to engineering and law, with another round of winners to be announced in July.
