• Southern California's longest multi-use trail project is more than halfway done — it will cover 110 miles from Huntington Beach to the San Bernardino National Forest (secretlosangeles.com) — A new 3.8-mile stretch of the Santa Ana River Trail now links Waterman Avenue in San Bernardino to California Street in Redlands, creating an 11-mile continuous route through the area. Beginning in mid-2027, construction is set to extend the trail from California Street in Redlands to Orange Street in Mentone, further improving local options for walking, biking, and commuting.
   

• Riverside working with Scouting America on plan to develop new IE scout headquarters at Fairmount Park (sbsun.com) — Scouting America's Inland Empire council, currently headquartered in Redlands, is working with Riverside to plan a new regional base at Fairmount Park that could open within six years. Leaders say the move would centralize operations and expand outdoor programs, while the Redlands site continues serving Riverside and San Bernardino County youth during the transition.
