• Search Called Off for Father of 3 Who Went Overboard Off Cruise Ship Near Mexico (people.com) — A Redlands family is grieving after the Coast Guard suspended its search for 56-year-old father of three Thomas Gigler, who went overboard from a Carnival cruise near Mexico. Gigler, a longtime Esri programmer, disappeared while sailing with his wife and sons, and relatives believe he may have suffered a mental health crisis during the trip.
• Big Rig Crash Kills Three Construction Workers in Blythe (mynewsla.com) — A 44-year-old Redlands man was seriously injured when his big rig slammed into multiple construction vehicles on eastbound I-10 in Blythe, killing three construction workers early Friday. The crash shut down lanes for hours as investigators worked the scene, and CHP says drugs and alcohol are not suspected while they continue probing what caused the collision.
