
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- Autism and its possible causes will be explored in a presentation by Cal State San Bernardino professor of nursing Teresa Dodd-Butera on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
CSUSB’s Institute for Child Development and Family Relations will present the lecture in collaboration with University Center for Developmental Disabilities, Project CUIDAR, the Children’s Network-San Bernardino and the Carolyn E. Wiley Center.
Dodd-Butera brings vast experience and knowledge about environmental exposure and its potential causation of autism spectrum disorder. She earned a Ph.D. in toxicology and international health, with a research focus on exposures to the maternal-fetal environment. She has written and presented on public health, environmental threats and poison prevention strategies.

In addition, Dodd-Butera is a registered nurse and a diplomat of the American Board of Applied Toxicology. Besides teaching at CSUSB, she is also an adjunct faculty member at San Diego State University’s Graduate School of Public Health.
