Bank Transfer Day and Protest

Occupy Redlands is planning a number of activities today. At 11 a.m., there will be a Teach In, at the Renaissance Banquet Hall, 19 E Citrus Ave, Ste 202 in Redlands. The cross streets are Cajon and Orange street and North Fifth and South Fifth Streets.

Professor David Braxton of Chaffey College will give a presentation titled “The Monetary System, When Cousins Marry.”

This event is open to the public.

A protest of Redlands Branch of Bank of America will follow. Occupy Redlands protestors will assemble at noon on the corner of Redlands Boulevard and Seventh Street.

Protestors plan to urge locals to shift their funds from for-profit banking institutions in favor of not-for-profit credit unions. The protest will be from noon to 1 pm.

Participants are encouraged to bring a sign.

The protest is then followed by a general assembly at the Police Annex/Smiley Park the assembly is open to the public.
