The City Council will be voting on whether or not to demolish the Historic Mutual Orange Distributors Packinghouse, in Redlands. The City Council appears to be in favor of demolishing it to build a 5 story parking lot; if they do so, the packinghouse would be sold to the lowest bidder, rather than the highest. There is great controversy over this monumental decision, especially since the building is one of the most significant components of its downtown historic district.
