"They are small businesses, the lifeblood of our community," Redlands Mayor Pete Aguilar said in a promotional video for Small Business Saturday.

"It's the day we celebrate the Shop Small movement, to drive shoppers to our local merchants on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year," Aguilar said. "Small businesses create jobs, preserve neighborhoods and fuel the local economy. Did you know that over two-thirds of every dollar spent at a local business goes right back into our community?"
