Inland Mexican Heritage Presents North Redlands Walking Tour Saturday July 28

The tour is scheduled to start at Redlands Family Restaurant, 107 E. Colton Ave., for a 90-minute trek through neighborhoods of north Redlands along the Interstate 10 freeway, organizers said. Tickets are $15.

Local historians with Inland Mexican Heritage are planning a Mexican American walking tour of north Redlands on Saturday July 28.

"Take a walk through history with Antonio Gonzalez Vasquez, historian and co-author with Genevieve Carpio of the upcoming book 'Mexican Americans in Redlands' on this entertaining and informative two-hour tour," organizers said.

"Several stops are scheduled on this unique exploration of little-known historic sites and long overlooked community stories," organizers said.

The tour is scheduled to start 8 a.m. July 28 at Redlands Family Restaurant, 107 E. Colton Ave., for a no-host breakfast and book preview followed by a 90-minute trek through neighborhoods of north Redlands along the Interstate 10 freeway, organizers said.

The tour is "part of an Inland Mexican Heritage retrospective of events, film premieres, and performances including the release on August 13 of 'Mexican Americans in Redlands,'" organizers said.

Signed copies of the book and the DVD 'Living on the Dime' documentary about construction of Interstate 10 through Redlands will be available during the tour
