Man is Injured Will Crossing Redlands Road on Halloween

The man had been crossing in an area that had no crosswalk or stop sign.

A man in his 70’s suffered a broken leg Halloween night after he was struck by crossing a Redlands Road, Redlands officials said.

The unnamed man was northbound crossing Brookside Avenue near Lakeside Avenue sometime after 6:30 p.m. According to Carl Baker, spokesman for the City of Redlands, the pedestrian stepped out into an area that had no marked crosswalk or stop sign.

A vehicle driven by a female motorist who was traveling eastbound struck the man, Baker said. The woman was not impaired. It appears she did not see him, Baker said. No one else was reported injured.
