Phelan Church to Host Job Fair on May 4
High Desert Job, College and Veterans Fair will connect job seekers with employers who are actively hiring.
PHELAN, Calif. – The process of looking for a new job can be stressful, intimidating and downright depressing, especially for someone who’s currently not employed or starting from scratch.
So it’s only natural that those hunting for a job look to a place that is safe and can provide hope and support, no matter what the circumstances. That place is a church, and on Wednesday, May 4, the New Life Church of the Nazarene in Phelan, Calif., will host the High Desert Job, College and Veterans Fair.
The event is presented in partnership by New Life Church of the Nazarene and Church Job Fairs, an organization that works with churches to present events throughout California. Church Job Fairs (www.churchjobfairs.org) helps provide job seekers with hope and encouragement, while introducing them to a welcoming local church and delivering enthusiastic job candidates to employers.

Participating recruiters are looking to fill hundreds of current job openings in accounting, administration, clerical, customer service, education, financial services, health care, nursing, law enforcement, management, manufacturing, non-profit, sales, transportation and more.
Candidates should dress professionally and come equipped with a generous supply of resumes. Military veterans, reservists and members of the National Guard are encouraged to attend.
To help attendees distinguish themselves and prepare in advance for the job fair, New Life Church of the Nazarene will also host a free resume writing and interviewing workshop on Wednesday, April 27, from 10 a.m.-noon. The session will offer valuable tips about writing and updating resumes, online job searches, how to dress for success and the best approaches to interviewing for a job. It is also intended to help people address the legal and financial pressures of finding a job. Workshop attendees will be given a “fast pass” to avoid waiting in line on May 4. Only those who attend the workshop will receive a fast pass. To register, visit http://www.phelannewlife.org/job-fair.
