The Superhero Musical

You might think that superheros don't mix with singing and dancing and acting, but we believe there are 3 great reasons "The Superhero Musical" and it's message are important for kids in 2019.

1. Exposure to Theater

The title is a marvelous hook for otherwise uninterested participants. There are so many young boys and girls who believe they are "too cool" for acting and make believe, yet as we found when we did a "Galactic Star Wars on Broadway" camp, those same "too cool" kids are suddenly interested in performance art, they want to transform into beloved characters, they want to be heroes.

2. Being a Hero

The message behind the story, is putting the needs of others before our own. This is a huge lesson for kids to be exposed to and think about. To act kindly, to do good, to help those in need... all admirable qualities we hope will be instilled in the hearts of all our students and audience members alike.

2. Discovering a Passion for Theater

More often than not, after a positive experience in the theater, kids will discover that theater is their passion, and continue being part of performing arts for the rest of their lives. Whether that's as a patron of the arts, an avid and intelligent audience member, a local community performer or a professional. We believe a love and respect of theater is important for all citizens of our community.
