TORRANCE, CA —Two people accused of installing “covert surveillance systems" used in residential burglaries have been arrested, Torrance police say.

A patrol sergeant was in the area of Iris Avenue and 227 Street shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday when a passing park abruptly stopped, police said.

The driver “attempted to quickly distance himself from the vehicle,” according to police.
After calling additional units, officers spoke with the driver and a second person inside the car, police said.
