2 Suspects Arrested After Attempted Break-In At Watch Repair Shop

The attempted break-in happened at a Torrance watch repair shop, and one of the suspects was seen holding a crowbar.

TORRANCE, CA – Two suspects were arrested after an attempted break-in at a Torrance watch repair shop, police said Tuesday. One of the suspects was a repeat offender under supervised release after theft and weapons-related convictions.

Officers saw a man holding a crowbar walking toward Timemaster Watch Repair in the 3100 block of Artesia Boulevard while responding to a call regarding an alarm at about 1:50 a.m. Saturday, according to Torrance police Sgt. Ronald Harris.

The man saw the officers and got rid of the crowbar, Harris said, and at the same time, a woman tried to flee the area in a vehicle. Arrested at the scene were Jose Buenrostro, 37, of Huntington Park and Elizabeth Delgadillo, 24, of Bakersfield. Both were booked on suspicion of attempted commercial burglary, Harris said.

"The investigation revealed the suspects attempted to pry the door to the business, but were unsuccessful in gaining entry," the sergeant alleged.

Buenrostro has 10 felony convictions – including evading, vehicle theft and burglary – and was on formal probation for felony theft and a weapons- related conviction, Harris said.
