4 Hospitalized After Crash In South Bay

Two patients needed to be extracted from a vehicle with hydraulic tools after The crash early Tuesday morning in Hermosa Beach.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — Four people were injured Tuesday morning when a red Jeep and white Dodge pickup collided in Hermosa Beach.

The crash was reported about 12:40 a.m. at Valley Drive and Second Street, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Jeremy Stafford.

Paramedics took four patients to hospitals, Stafford said. He did not know their conditions.
A news videographer at the scene reported two patients were trapped in one of the vehicles until firefighters used hydraulic tools to free them.

Southbound Valley Drive was temporarily shut down from Herondo Street to Second Street for the investigation and clean-up.
