Alleged Drunk Driver Hits Two Cars, Plows Into Torrance Eatery
The driver also hit a light pole and fire hydrant, but no one was seriously injured.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – An alleged drunk driver hit two vehicles, a light pole, and a fire hydrant before crashing into a Torrance restaurant, but no one was seriously hurt, police said Wednesday. The crash was reported just before 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 2200 block of Artesia Boulevard, according to the Torrance Police Department.
The driver was heading westbound on Artesia Boulevard when he hit two eastbound cars before his vehicle traveled off the road, police said. The car then struck a light pole and a fire hydrant before it plowed into a restaurant.
No one was in the restaurant at the time of the crash and none of the other drivers whose cars were struck were injured, police said.

The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He is expected to be arrested on suspicion of DUI once he is released, police said.
Artesia Boulevard was closed from Casimir Avenue to Van Ness Avenue for a crash investigation.
