A lime green Corvette ended up mangled after a high-speed police pursuit in which the driver crashed and was injured in Torrance.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the chase began in Orange County and made its way to the 91 Freeway and eventually into the South Bay around 8 pm Thursday night, with the sports car traveling at more than 100 mph at times.
The car eventually crashed into another vehicle, a tree and then a pole before coming to a stop at Sepulveda and Hawthorne boulevards.
The driver, who was injured during the crash, eventually surrendered to police and was taken into custody. His name has not been released by authorities.
At this point, it's still unclear why the pursuit began.
