LOS ANGELES, CA — Motorists on the eastbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in South Los Angeles County will face overnight lane and connector closures beginning Friday evening for work on Metro's 105 ExpressLanes project.
Up to two eastbound lanes will be closed between Hawthorne and Crenshaw boulevards from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday and again from 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday, according to Metro.
The connector from the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway to the eastbound 105 Freeway will also be closed during those hours.
The closures are needed for work to convert existing high-occupancy vehicle lanes into two ExpressLanes in each direction on the 105 Freeway, Metro officials said.
The project is intended to improve travel speeds in the ExpressLanes, enhance connections with the Harbor (110) Freeway ExpressLanes in South Los Angeles and reduce freeway traffic spilling onto nearby streets, officials said.
Major construction on the first segment of the project, extending from Sepulveda Boulevard to Central Avenue, began in 2025 and is expected to be completed in 2028.
