With the new school year about to begin, Patch takes a look back at notable alums.

Over the years, graduates of Redondo Union High School have gone on to achieve remarkable things, as the recent death of former Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, RUHS class of '42, reminds. With the new school year about to begin, we thought we'd take a look back at their achievements. This series will run throughout the week.

This RUHS graduate stayed close to home. He devoted his career to education and had a school named for him.

Yesterday's notable alum: Jeannie Myers Morris, class of '54. She became a pioneering female sportscaster and wrote a bio of the late football player Brian Piccolo, whose story was immortalized in the TV movie "Brian's Song."
