Ballots Due by 8 p.m.

The city mailed out 40,000 ballots for its first ever all mail-in election.

Today is election day, and the last day to turn in your ballot. This is the first all mail election for the city, and if you want your ballot to count it must be turned in by 8 p.m. to the City Clerk’s Office, 415 Diamond St., Door C.

Ballots also may be dropped off by 8 p.m. at the North Branch Library, located at Artesia Boulevard and Green Lane. Both the library and clerk's office open at 7 a.m.

No polling places will be open today.

Three are running for two open seats on the Redondo Unified School District Board of Education.

Laura Emdee, Arda Clark and Anita Avrick are for two seats vacated by termed-out board members Carl Clark and Arlene Staich. Arda is Carl Clark's wife.

District 5 Councilman Matthew Kilroy and District 3's Pat Aust are running unopposed as is City Clerk Eleanor Manzano and City Treasurer Ernie H. O'Dell.

A voted ballot must be turned in using the prepaid return/identification envelope provided with the sample ballot.
