Bicyclist in South Bay Crash Hit by Suspected Drugged Driver
A 2005 Dodge pickup truck collided with a bicyclist in the southbound lanes of Crenshaw Boulevard, police said.

TORRANCE, CA -- A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs following a collision in Torrance that left a bicyclist critically injured, police reported Wednesday.
The crash occurred about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 22800 block of Crenshaw Boulevard, said Torrance police Sgt. Paul Kranke.
A 2005 Dodge pickup truck collided with a bicyclist in the southbound lanes of Crenshaw Boulevard, Kranke said.

"The initial investigation indicates the Dodge pickup was traveling southbound on Crenshaw Boulevard in the number three lane when it collided with the bicyclist, who appeared to also be traveling southbound in the number three lane of Crenshaw Boulevard," Kranke said.
The 19-year-old woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition, Kranke said. Her name was not released.

The pickup truck driver, a 24-year-old man who was not immediately identified, "was not injured, but was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs," Kranke said.
