Bomb Threat Prompts Lockdown At Torrance High School

TORRANCE, CA — South High School in Torrance was placed on lockdown Wednesday following a reported bomb threat, according to a breaking-news alert.

Police were responding in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Calle Mayor, and the public was advised to avoid the area, according to Neighborhood Alerts.

South High School is located at 4801 Pacific Coast Highway, near the intersection with Calle Mayor.

It was not immediately clear how the threat was made, when it was received or whether authorities had found anything suspicious on the campus.

There was also no immediate information about whether students had been evacuated or were sheltering in place.
