Boy Arrested, Suspected Of Mall Shooting In Redondo Beach
Officers arrested a boy last week in connection to a non-fatal shooting at the Galleria Mall in Redondo Beach.
REDONDO BEACH, CA — The Redondo Beach Police Department last week arrested a juvenile boy in connection to a non-fatal shooting at the Galleria Mall in March, authorities announced Friday.
On March 11 at about 2:15 p.m., officers received reports of gunshots at the mall. When RBPD arrived they found a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his foot and had the man taken to a local hospital.
The suspect had already left when officers arrived, but witnesses told RBPD they believed the boy drove away in a dark-colored vehicle.

As detectives further investigated the incident, they developed information that led to a person of interest. Investigators served warrants at a location in Torrance on May 18 to arrest the juvenile suspect they believed was responsible for the shooting.
During the arrest, RBPD officers said they also found an illegally possessed firearm.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and illegal possession of a loaded firearm. He was transferred to the custody of the Los Angeles County Probation Department and officers said the case will be presented to the District Attorney for consideration of filing criminal charges.
