South Bay Parkland Conservancy, for the 2026 iNat Together Celebration, will be hosting a Bioblitz at Hopkins Wilderness Park.
What is a Bioblitz? A Bioblitz is a guided nature walk, with the instruction on how to identify and document as many species as possible to post to iNaturalist.

Participants will:
Walk the park in groups with a trained guide
Install the iNaturalist ap on their device and learn how to utilize this community science platform
Learn techniques for making scientific observations
Learn fun facts about our local ecosystem
Contribute to documenting the biodiversity of Hopkins Wilderness Park
Be exposed to resources to foster nature exploration and engagement
What to bring?
Sunscreen
Hat, sunglasses
A cellular device (with iNaturalist installed)
Closed toe shoes/boots
A reusable water bottle
camera, binoculars and hand lens/loop are optional
