Child Pornography Suspect Arrested In Redondo Beach

REDONDO BEACH, CA — a 56-year-old Redondo Beach man was arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography, police announced Thursday.

According to the Redondo Beach Police Department, detectives received information from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that pointed to a suspect who lived in the city. Investigators identified the man as Redondo Beach resident Renato Detassis and searched his home, officials said.

Detassis was booked at the RBPD jail on suspicion of possession of child pornography on July 20, RBPD said.

Additional investigation into the case is ongoing, authorities said, and it will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for consideration of filing criminal charges.
