Compost Giveaway Set For Feb. 21 At Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center
The City of Redondo Beach is providing free compost -- while supplies last -- to residents on Feb. 21.
REDONDO BEACH, CA -- On Feb. 21, waste and recycling company Athens Services is giving away free compost -- while supplies last --to residents who provide proof of residency.
The giveaway is set for 8 am-noon Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Performing Arts Center, 1935 Manhattan Beach Blvd., Redondo Beach. The compost is a blend of organic material, including a mix of green waste, wood waste, and food scraps.
In addition to proof of residency, participants are advised to bring sturdy containers and to show up early, before the material runs out. Gloves and eye protection are also recommended. No plastic bags will be allowed.

Also not allowed will be containers larger than 32 gallons due to weight and safety concerns, according to the city.
