Council Decides On Temporary Permits For Paddleboard Operators
Mobile paddleboard operators are making quite a splash in Redondo Beach.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – Mobile paddleboard operators are making quite a splash in Redondo Beach. City Council delayed a plan Tuesday to create permits to use city-owned hand launch in the harbor and a formal process to apply for them until after the summer, according to The Beach Reporter.
The council voted unanimously to issue one rental company, Olympus Stand Up Paddle Boarding, a temporary permit to operate over the summer, while proposing the company rents a retail space on the International Boardwalk. All other companies planning to use the hand launch near Seaside Lagoon this summer will need to apply for a temporary permit as well, Stephen Proud, waterfront and economic development director told the newspaper.

The paddle board is said to give the body’s core more of a workout then in a gym since the platform is unstable and one must use the muscles to remain balanced on the board.
