ECC Faculty Member to present "African American Images in the Media"
Lecture will look at portrayals, perceptions of African Americans in media

El Camino College Assistant Professor Larry Leach will present “African American Images in the Media: A look at portrayals, perceptions and effects,” as part of the Center for the Arts Resident Artist Series. Leach’s presentation begins at 7 p.m. November 19 in Marsee Auditorium.
In his lecture, Leach will discuss how the perceptions and portrayals of African Americans significantly influence the evaluations of African Americans in general.
Leach has experience in a variety of areas in the communications field, including audio/video production, Web design, video editing, sound engineering, project management, photography, image editing and graphic design, and other media-based content development.

Leach teaches courses in public speaking and mass communication. He has a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton and a master’s degree from California State University, Fresno.
