Computer Talk: 'Cloud Computing, What Is It and How Could It Impact Your Life?'

On Oct. 28, Rick Spillane's Computer talk will focus on the meaning of the term "Cloud Computing." Cloud computing is Internet-based and allows shared resources, software, and information to be provided to computers and other devices (like Smart phones) on demand, just like plugging into an electrical outlet. Cloud computing accommodates unlimited storage and backup of photos and documents while allowing instant movies and music on demand.

What is the real world impact on our lives and is it worth the cost? What about the security of your data or your computer? What about the security of information about you gathered by others or held by businesses you deal with? The talk will evaluate the cost to consumers and the advantages.

Come to the Franklin Center at noon, on Thursday, Oct. 28, and we'll help you uncloud your mind about this developing trend.
