Mayor Mike Gin and the City Council are set to unveil the newly re-casted and installed bust of George Freeth and the George Freeth Heritage Plaza of Surfing and Lifeguarding on Sunday, November 7, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. This bust was re-commissioned by the City and the "Friends of Freeth" volunteers after the original bust was stolen in August 2008. The Grand Unveiling represents the return of a local surfing and life-guarding legend to his place of honor at the foot of the City's Pier.
