State of Education Event and Chili Cook-Off

This year’s theme is Building a Community. Dr. Steven Keller, Superintendent of Schools, Jane Diehl, Board of Education President, Ted Lieu, State Senator 28th District, Betsy Butler, Assemblymember 53rd District, and Mike Gin, City of Redondo Beach Mayor, will be speakers. The purpose of the evening, sponsored by Partners in Education (PIE), is to convey the community’s unifying message of support for public education in Redondo Beach. Also, the 2011-2012 Education Advocate Award recipient will be announced. RBUSD continues to “reach for greatness” and encourages the community’s presence at the occasion to support our pre- Kindergarten to Adult Education programs. A chili cook-off is also part of the evening’s event.
