Filming In Redondo Beach Could Bring Noise, Smoke, Fire Dept Says

Film production March 30-31 includes simulated fire and prop gunfire. Expect noise, smoke and simulated fights, Redondo Beach Fire says.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — If you hear gunfire, see smoke and witness scuffling near the King Yacht Harbor Club on Monday and Tuesday, there's (probably) no need for alarm, according to the Redondo Beach Fire Department.

Film production is taking place in King Harbor March 30-31 and includes simulated fire and prop gunfire. Those in the area can expect "brief noise, smoke, and simulated fights in the area of Yacht Club Way," according to the RBFD, which noted that it is a permitted and coordinated film production.

During filming, the production will include:
• Simulated fire effects (pyrotechnics)
• Simulated gunfire using prop (airsoft) weapons
• Presence of emergency vehicles and personnel as part of the production

What to expect:
• Intermittent loud noises resembling gunfire or explosions
• Visible smoke or simulated fire conditions
• Increased activity in and around the harbor area

"There is no cause for alarm," the RBFD said in a statement.
