Fire Breaks Out Near South Bay Galleria Shopping Mall

REDONDO BEACH, CA — Reports of a large fire near the South Bay Galleria Mall in Redondo Beach prompted police and fire department response Tuesday.

According to the Redondo Beach Fire Department, dispatchers got word of a second-alarm structure fire in the area of Kingsdale Avenue south of Artesia Boulevard. No additional details were immediately available.

Nearby residents said that smoke from the fire could be seen a few miles away.

Authorities warned that power lines were down and several streets adjacent to the area were blocked in response to the fire.

The Redondo Beach Police Department advised travelers to use alternative routes while authorities extinguish the fire.
