Fire Broke Out at Torrance Refining Company
Two dozen Torrance firefighters worked with refinery personnel to put out the flames.

TORRANCE, CA -- A fire broke out late Tuesday afternoon at a refinery in Torrance, but no one was injured.
The fire was reported about 4:20 p.m. in a process area of the Torrance Refining Co. facility in the 3700 block of 190th Street and was extinguished by about 4:45 p.m., according to the Torrance Fire Department Capt. Bob Millea.
"There has been no off-site impact noted," Millea said.

A alert issued by the city said no hazards were detected off site.

"The line has been isolated with the goal to burn off residual product in the line," according to the alert that said no flaring was required.
Some employees were evaluated at the scene but did not require hospital treatment, authorities said.
