Former FBI Director James Comey Coming To Speak In Redondo Beach

Comey, along with Annie Leibovitz, Chris Wallace, and more, will be part of the Distinguished Speaker Series of Southern California.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – Former FBI Director James Comey will be coming to Redondo Beach next year as part of the Distinguished Speaker Series of Southern California. Comey, who is one of many distinguished speakers, will address an audience at the Performing Arts Center Feb 13, 2019.

Comey recently wrote a bestselling book, "A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies & Leadership," and went on a nationwide speaking tour. He's become a polarizing figure in politics, calling President Trump "unethical" and "untethered to the truth" in his new book.

Trump fired Comey in May 2017 due to his handling of the FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private e-mail server while she was secretary of state. Democrats have said Comey politicized the investigation – at the time, the White House said that the "FBI had been in turmoil," and "the rank and file of the FBI had lost confidence in Comey." Then-acting director Andrew McCabe denied these statements, and said Comey "enjoyed broad support within the FBI, and still does to this day." He was fired in March.
