Former Redondo Beach Resident Fatally Stabbed at Torrance Motel

A former Redondo Beach resident was fatally stabbed at a Torrance motel Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Edward Martinez, 64, allegedly stabbed Timothy William Hillis, 62, multiple times at the Torrance Motel at 1646 Cabrillo Ave. Los Angeles County coroner's officials identified the victim Wednesday.

Hillis was living at the residential motel at the time of the incident. He died at County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Torrance Police have not released any details on the victim or what happened between the men.

Martinez, who was living at another motel in downtown Torrance, is being held in the Torrance jail and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
