Fundraiser Launched For South Bay Family That Lost Home To Fire

On April 1, the Hansen family was awakened by a fire that destroyed their Redondo Beach home. A new fundraiser aims to help them recover.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — At 1 am on April 1, On April 1, the Hansen family -- parents Michael and Samantha, along with their sons Landon and Mack and their two dogs -- was awakened by a fire that destroyed their Redondo Beach home.

The family made it out safely, but now they're focused on immediate needs: finding a safe place to stay, replacing essentials, and making sure their children and pets are cared for.

A new fundraiser aims to help those efforts.

The GoFundMe, organized by Meghan Basarab, aims to raise $35,000 to help the family.

"Let's support this deserving family and let them know how much they are loved," she wrote.

As of April 6, nearly $31,000 has already been raised from more than 200 donors.
