Man, 19, Arrested in Shooting Death of Teen in South Bay
The victim was gunned down from behind at close range as she walked west on a Carson Street sidewalk near Evonda Avenue on Saturday.

CARSON, CA - A young man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 19-year-old woman in Carson over the weekend, authorities said.
The Daily Breeze, citing information from unnamed officials, identified the suspect as 19-year-old Alexander Espino of Compton.
The victim — identified by the coroner's office as 19-year-old Cynthia Ambriz of Wilmington — was gunned down from behind at close range as she walked west on a Carson Street sidewalk near Evonda Avenue at about 12:10 a.m. Saturday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Espino, who was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday, was being held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles, according to sheriff's online inmate records.

He has not yet been charged, officials told the Breeze.
