More Rain Fell in Redondo Beach than Anywhere in Southland
But more precipitation could be on the way by Tuesday night.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — Redondo Beach received the most rain in Monday's storm, according to the National Weather Service.
Between midnight and 10 a.m., 0.87 inches of rain fell at Los Angeles International Airport, while downtown Los Angeles received about 0.77 inches. Redondo Beach recorded the most rain, at 1.13 inches, the NWS said. Northridge received 8/10ths of an inch, while Van Nuys got about two-thirds of an inch.
The overnight downpours made for a soggy commute across the Southland, but forecasters said the rain has largely moved on to the south by late Monday morning, with only "isolated showers mainly over higher terrain" expected through Monday afternoon.

But more precipitation could be on the way by Tuesday night.
"A low-pressure system will likely bring widespread rain and high-elevation snow late Tuesday into Wednesday," according to the NWSe. "A second, colder system may bring more rain and mountain snow to the area Thursday. A building ridge of high pressure will support warmer and drier conditions this weekend."

Temperatures will remain about 8 to 12 degrees colder than Sunday.
With another low-pressure system expected to move in the area Tuesday, snow levels are expected to drop below 5,000 feet by Wednesday afternoon. Rain is likely Tuesday night through Wednesday, with about one-half to 1 inch of rain expected in most areas, according to the NWS.
More rain is possible Thursday, but forecasters said the moisture should be gone by the weekend.
"It will be dry and skies will be partly cloudy at worst," forecasters said. "Max temps will slowly rise through the period and by Sunday most max temps will (be) within a degree of normal."
