See Octopus Strut Its Stuff On SoCal Pier

This sassy cephalopod mimicked a fish out of water as it strolled down the pier, looking for the nearest exit back to sea.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – It had a beak and it was on the pier but it was definitely not a seagull. Polly's on the Pier captured video of a sassy cephalopod as it moved down the busy pier, looking for the nearest exit back to ocean below. The wayward octopus slinked along the boardwalk, feeling around for an opening, and eventually squeezed its way through a small crack in the wood.

It seems like Redondo Beach residents were delighted to see the creature out of its natural habitat, with one Facebook user commenting "So that's how you get your calamari" (although calamari is actually made with squid, it's close enough?).

Other comments include "Spider man's got nothing on this creature! Love this!" and "That is so awesome! I loved the splash."
